As an experiment, we spent the last 7 days publishing each of our 50 daily articles of to Facebook Instant Articles so we could compare our average metrics to what was going on before. It turns out, people like reading articles there.

Facebook reach has increased by 51%  since we started using instant articles, post engagement by 72% and the time users spent reading articles rose by 50% . Unique visitors to had risen by 20%, overall visits by 37%, and page views by 55%.

It’s clear to us that if we want to be where our audiences are, the best bet is to play ball with Silicon Valley, despite justified fears that most of our concerns and misgivings have, thus far, fallen on deaf ears.  It appears Silicon Valley might actually be listening.
